The Coolpix S800, the first Android based camera from Nikon

It looks like the popular camera company Nikon will soon be announcing their first Android based camera. The model will be dubbed as the Coolpix S800 (S800c), and the specs that you can expect on this will be:

• 25-250 mm lens
• 3.5 OLED screen
• The camera runs all Google Play Apps
• The camera will probably run Android 2.3
• Built-in GPS
• Built-in Wi-Fi

I think this would be great and a smart move by Nikon. Perhaps this could be a first step into seeing some really powerful Android-based cameras in the near future. Maybe even DSLRs?

The proposed announcement of this device is on August 22nd and well be sure to relay more information as soon as we know.
